Pgae 8 - The Town's Favorite (Halloween Piece)

Prompt: A funeral bell rings for someone who is still alive (happy Saturween hehehe i hope you enjoy!!!)

    Ding-dong, ding-dong.

Crystal sits there, fidgeting and restless in the front row, as she focuses on the casket in front of her. "Crystal Choi" carved on the dark chocolate wood where her body sleeps. Diane, who sat in a reserved seat next to her, can hear the shaky breaths. In, out, in, out, in, out--her chest inflating with every breath. The horror in her eyes is evident, and you can see her irises fearfully scanning the room, touching people, looking for anyone who will notice her presence. But the only thing that remains is the cold air her ghost leaves behind.

Crystal was a very sweet child. In fact, her small little town would describe her as a golden child. She had very soft features, from her big doe eyes and her button nose to her round face and chubby cheeks. She had straight A's, was salutatorian, and was a very faithful child of God. She would've gone to a good university if her life hadn't ended so soon. Diane was her best friend. She was valedictorian and was born into a rich family. She had jet-black hair, strong features, and a tall, slim figure. The two were quite different but were attached at the hip.

Diane can't help but look at Crystal in pity. She's so desperate for someone to notice her when she is a worthless spirit. "I am alive, I'm not dead! Someone look at me, acknowledge me, TELL ME I'M NOT DEAD!" Crystal screamed and yelled and pleaded. She sobbed so loudly, the tears pooling in her eyes and falling straight down instead of following the curvature of her now pale, transparent skin--you can tell she doesn't want to believe her time has come. She kept going, kept begging for someone's attention. She screeched at such a high frequency it could break windows and shatter eardrums--and each time, her scream was higher than the last.

But it didn't work. Because she's dead.

The atmosphere got so tense it was uncanny. Diane looked uncomfortable and was shivering from the cold. She looked around, and everyone was unaffected. Her mother and father were crying. Her 10-year-old sister was trying to stay strong for her parents, but she was obviously faltering. All of this happening in the background while Crystal sobbed and scratched at the casket in distress, in hopes of reaching her rotting corpse. Diane almost felt bad. But would she care about Crystal?

No one can hear her. No one can see her. No one can feel her impact either.

But Diane could, as her murderer.

Legend says that she's still in that church, weeping and singing hymns of freedom. "I'm not dead...come free me..." Crystal would repeat. People would hear her cry as they passed by. People theorize that she's in there planning her revenge.

Diane goes by another name, Bella. She now lives in a new city, in an apartment alone, far away from her and Crystal's loved ones. She can still hear her breathing. She still remembers the tempo at which she was panting. In, out, in, out, in, out.

    But Crystal still knows.

One day, Bella heard a knock on her door. She perks up, confused, and opens the door to a petite figure with a round face, unhealthy pale skin, and a wretched state. She felt something tighten in her throat. All the color drained from her face, and all that was left was fear.

    "Crystal?" She whimpered.

    "I'm free."

Page 6 - Her

( Based on the songs Magnolia and Snow White by Laufey ^^ )

~ Snow White POV ~

I don't understand. Magnolia, she just sits there, does nothing and attracts neveryone within a 5-mile radius. Without even trying. I don't understand. I really don't understand. She's so perfect, while I'm just...so imperfect. The way my skin is so pale, while hers is fair. The way I have broad, out-of-place shoulders, and her body is petite. She is everything I am if my wrongs were right, and it's unfair. She doesn't even realize the impact of her presence, the way the everyone would bend backwards to attend to her, the way the world turns just for her. I just envy her. What am I doing wrong? Should I get skincare? Wear more makeup? Why can't I be like her?

~ Magnolia POV ~

Oh, Snow White. She's so effortlessly beautiful, I don't get it. She keeps to herself and has a peaceful aura to her that I yearn to have. I don't understand. She's so introverted, unpopular, yet she's the one who catches my eye in a room of the most popular girls. How can people not see the beauty in heck? Heck, how do they see the beaty in me? She has porcelain, white skin, and gorgeous broad shoulders. I need skincare and makeup to look presentable while Snow White has a natural glow. How can I compete with her? She is so so lovable. How can someone so naturally alluring? How can people just ignore and overlook such perfection? They try to tell me I'm wrong, but am I really? I just envy her. What am I doing wrong? Should I wear less makeup? Why can't I be like her?

Page 5 - Update!

Hello there, it's been a while! There's a lot I gotta talk about.

I'm a freshie, how exciting! Met great new people and I'm super excited about what's to come in the future. I also found some clubs and extracurriculars I'd love to be apart of. Currently I'm in the Drama Club (of course), Photography Club, and I'm thinking of join Book and Chorus Club!

That's a whole lot, but I need to get super invovled and quit being a couch potato lmaooo.

I'm also thinking of joining this acting program for theatre, where we get to go to theatre shows FOR FREE and write blogs about it (the whole thing is being an influencer and yapping about theate and Broadway, which is soooo sick). However, I sadly do not meet the requirements, so I'm thinking of trying next year as a Sophomore.

Anyway, that's all for me!!

Closing the book,

Mr. Paris

Page 4 - Character Story

This is one of my many original characters, Yvaine! She is a lesbian and a transgender girl and this character's story takes place in a school! She's academically gifted, the Student Council Treasurer, and is president of both Chess and Book Club. Her peers look up to her, her teachers see her potential. Yvaine is a really loved student. However, others are transphobic towards her, saying that she will always be a male. Yvaine sees how people view her and gives herself high expectations. A big weakness she has is that although she's very intelligent and booksmart, she does not like opening up about her emotions or asking for help—as it makes her feel unable to solve her own problems.

MY THOUGHT PROCESS

What inspired this character is, honestly, me. I am a perfectionist, and I strive to succeed academically. I hate asking for help because it makes me feel incapable. I also hold myself to high standards. I always go for the honor/advanced classes because I want to be in all the advanced classes; I want to be an overachiever—even when I don't believe in myself.

Also, many of my ocs are "normal" (AKA heterosexual and cisgendered). I didn't want all my characters basically being the same with a different backstory. I wanted them to be unique. I wanted to add more representation as a part of the LGBTQ+ community. So, I made some of my characters LGBTQ (including gay, aroace, genderfluid, and questioning).

That's all I have today! Buh-bye~ and I will catch you in the next one!

              Signed, Mr. Paris
